2000 jetta won\'t start

hi there i have a 2000 tdi jetta that won't start .it started out skipping at highway speed got home next day very hard to start but did start lots of smoke . drove about 10 miles still skipping but at all speeds and not shifting right, it's an automactic. now won't start at all want to change the fuel filter today but couldn't find one (sun) will find one monday and install ,and mybe change the 109 relay on the fuel pump O and on the sceond run the ckeck engine light came on and the glow plug light kept flashing. any help please thanks

Sounds like timing (pump) hopefully has jumped .check the bolts on the pump pulley and see if maybe they have moved. You may have to check the whole timing cam/crank/and pump if the belt slipped.
