I have a 2002 Jetta TDI that I bought used with 60,000 miles on it, all of them on dino diesel. I wanted to run it on biodiesel. After running it on B100 for about 4 months, the car began starting hard, and then one day it stalled on the freeway. I changed the fuel filter three times, but I kept having the problem. I took it into my mechanic (a biodiesel supporter) and he believes that the biodiesel blew the fuel pump somehow. He suggested I not run it on biodiesel anymore unless there is some sort of additive to increase the lubrocity of the fuel.
Anyone else blow a fuel pump on biodiesel? Are there any additives, other than just mixing with some D2, that I shoud try? Is there a specific brand of fuel filter that might work better with bio than dino?
