I'm shopping for this car for a friend. Any opinions on it? She just wrecked her 350 gasser.

Hi,

Have one since May, 2013. Great vehicle; 35-39 MPG on highway;
28-29 MPG in city. No issues to date, knock on wood.

Seriously considering a second one to replace Mini JCW which lacks
"hauling" room.

What are the features you like the most? What are the "must have" options and which ones could you do without?

Have one since Mar 2014. It's a 2014 Canadian car so the options may vary from the USA. It has all options except Distronic and leather seats. 7L/100km in mostly city driving in the winter. I rarely drive it in the summer but when I did I found the a/c output inadequate. It's obsidian black with a black interior so that may have something to do with it.
No problems except a very slight vibration in the passenger side xenon lamp going over Montreal potholes.
Only used the heated steering once. Heated seats are great. Heating system is excellent.
The Xenon lamps are great.
The larger screen entertainment system is really nice.
The seats are comfortable but not as nice as the W212 E class.
Very lively to drive around.
I haven't used the towbar yet.
All the best
