Price? The brake light beeping may be a blown fuse on A/C or recirc system .. fuse #5 I think.

I forgot the $6000 price tag... cuz i copied and pasted my Facebook / craigslist ad...

I found a blown fuse small 5 - that just made the brake light flash , not stay solid... i read so many forum posts yesterday about this issue... spent like 4 hours chasing it... i got it to go from Solid brake light to constant beep above 15 mph... to now a flashing brake light with an occasional beep... then it will go off for 30 seconds - come back and do it again.

I read a thread about the ac thing.. i forgot to look up which fuse it was.

May be the brake light switch under the pedal. But I think that causes a flashing glow plug light.

That glove box repair is priceless.

That glovebox fix is very unfortunate,
I know, right! What kind of hillbilly jackwagon butchers the dashboard by drilling holes into a nice low mileage '02 jetta wagon instead of just buying a new glovebox door?

An unmodified glove box can probably be found at the junkyard maybe even one that isn’t broken. But even one with a broken hinge or latch can be fixed properly. That just leaves the 2 holes in the dash and they could be filled with something. Black rtv?

107k miles Texas car, 5spd, no rust. The glove box is just a minor annoyance.

Finally solved the Brake light flashing.. I replaced the master cylinder fluid level cap / sensor - with a used one from another 2002 Jetta - i had previously tried 3 different ones from various Mk4's and finally settled and got a NEW aftermarket from o' Reillys

NO MORE BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP...... Someone should buy this.

A minor annoyance and also a testament to the maintenance and care of the vehicle....

Something that scares a cash buyer like me away... I'd take a car with twice the mileage that had signs of previous owners giving a damn.....

I like the glove box mod, hey if it works it works. Its an old car so you must figure someone has had their OWN fun with it! Good luck with sale! I would snag it but I just picked up a 1.9 to swap into my JK! :D:D:D
