vw passat tdi sedan needs transmission - $2000 (agawam, ma)

Selling for $2000 or best offer. Transmission overheated due to TCM getting wet under carpet. Mike McCann can install a 6speed standard transmission very economically. Check his references on this site. I cannot put in a manual transmission due to wife's physical disability. Timing belt serviced 5/2015 at 159k miles. 4 hancook tires with about 30% tread remaining. No rust except for small trace on inside trunk lid: rust on fender fixed/repainted at autobody 10/2013. Front pads, calipers and rotors replaced by Mike on 8/2014 6000 miles. Driver cvboot needs replacing, discovered on most recent oil change. Oil changed at 5000m intervals. Car has greasecar system installed, runs on either diesel or wvo, installed by greasecar. Engine has geared balance shaft assembly installed. Newer engine with 60,000 miles was swapped in about 30,000 miles ago by Mike McCann. Please contact me for any additional questions.

(note replacement swan neck purchased thru importer since I posted to thread http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=397949 and works like new. )

If someone is looking for a project, the auto trans may be salvageable. I installed a known good TCU, replaced trans fluid and filter, test drove and shifter fine on back roads, no codes. After a highway test drive was leaking from the torque converter area. Removed trans (hoping to find bad seal) and found front pump to tc bushing was loose, pump worn, and torque converter hub worn. I have another Passat auto trans (no forward gears, reverse good) for parts. Good? pump and torque converter, also have known good TCU.

Or - replace with a 5/6 speed and never have auto trans problems again.

I am willing to help a buyer and the seller with the sale of the car, email or call.

I actually started this thread after another one in the Private TDI Items for Sale/Wanted forum but then that earlier thread got more posts and this one received no posts until the last one from 94x.
