Hello all! I’m extremely new tonthe VW world, not new to diesels but definitely tomthe VW diesel world. Got my first TDI on Friday and when i bought it it sounded like it had some sort of air leak under acceleration. I’ve tinkered around with my cummins enough to fix things and underatnand what’s going on. I figured it might be a boost tube clamp or something loose. Well upon inspection the air is coming from the undernearh and it looks to be that damn egr cooler. Found a new one online genuine VW part for 245$. I hate these damn emissions crap. The hissing sound makes me pretty much 100% think it’s he cooler. Has anyone ever replaced theirs or deleted it? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I would contact user Frank06, he sells a modified EGR cooler that will not break again. The one that you are planning to buy from VW will go bad in time. Frank also has some ideas in regard to reducing oil drip[ping on the heating hoses. Do you have exhaust fumes in the cabin?
