2004 Jetta - Doors don't unlock with remote, but unlock trunk and lock doors

Doors don't unlock with remote, but unlock trunk and lock doors. Issue first started and then went away, but now it's back for a few months. I tried to lock and unlock using passenger door button with no luck.

My mk5 does this from time to time. Remote will pop trunk but not unlock doors. (I only notice it when I’m trying to get into my car)
I use key to unlock driver door and remote resumes working. Don’t know why.
Try that if you haven’t already.

Its probably the drivers door switch acting up

VCDS scan can help isolate the source of the problem.

Does the red light on the remote blink when you try to unlock it?

It doesn't. I tried my second key remote and I can unlock my doors. The button of my original key remote is the culprit. Thanks a lot for your help!
