Careful! It looks like Julia has already taken possession of her car!
Seriously, though, congratulations on the purchase. Sure wish I lived nearby so i could buy your trade-in! Can't wait to see what you do with the new one.

Thanks Snoozer. Julia DOES think it's hers, :) .

Window tinting is set for Monday, and the rear parking sensors (which were supposed to go on BEFORE we took delivery), will be fitted Tuesday. If they offer a good deal I'll get the front one as well. Supposed to be $A700. The accessories I ordered will arrive by the end of next week.

I hope Klaus goes to a good home :( . he deserves it. A great car and I'm still wondering why I let him go??

That's a well cared for car. What kind of mpg are you getting so far?
It is well cared for, but also new, although it is a year old. Delivery mileage was 27 Kms.

An hour trip to friends in the country (hilly) gave 4.1 L/100 Kms (57.37 US MPG)

Chrome trim & TDI badge added to the hatch;

VW Door sill protectors;

FRONT.

REAR.

A S/S exhaust extension was fitted by a local specialist;

This end piece was cut off. I made sure that the new extension cleared the bumper a little more.

Rear door & rear window sunblinds. Unlike the Mk V which were in a cassette & screwed to the top of the door, the Mk VI is held in by 4 clips stuck with double sided tape to the door frame;

The rear was simply held in with 2 clips and is slightly spring loaded to stay in place;

4 weathershields added;

The Oettinger module fitted on top of the battery box;

The Bug-In Badge that was removed from the Mk V has found a home on the Mk VI;

Wow, you're getting 78 mpg? I wish we could get those in the US. We must have some of the dumbest regulations on the planet that would keep a car like the Golf Bluemotion off our roads:(

She looks better with every new pic. ;) 3.0 L/100km. Now that you have to like. :D
And 325.7 km on a 1/4 tank.
Yes, I love that. That figure didn't last long, it was early in the trip, but much better than the 1.9TDI Mk 5 Golf.

Bearing in mind it is brand new out of the box, fuel economy will only improve, :)

EVERY country on this Planet needs to have access to these types of cars.

Chrome door handles & finger nail/ring protection plates. Wasn't sure if I liked this but Julia did. I'm now used to it.

Oettinger badge finally arrived.

Finally put on the Club sticker.

The 1600Km barrier has now been broken, so it's onto Phase 2 of running in;

1,600-8,000 km

Use the full ~5,000 rpm power range. Avoid steady rpm. Avoid the use of cruise control. Frequent application of full throttle is recommended to help seat the rings. City driving is ideal for breaking in a TDI due to frequent stops and acceleration.

Our annual show day was looming fast (17th March) so it was a good time to take off each wheel to give them a good clean and some paint sealant.

BEFORE;

The back of the wheel.

AFTER;

Also clean up under each guard.

I decided to have a bit of leather on the armrests as I am very dissatisfied with the cloth Volkswagen use. While the work performed by Marcus is exceptional, I don't think I got the colour right.
