Where to get Holset HE200WG??

Hello, was wondering where you guys think i could buy one of these, either genuine holset or Chinese clone. Thanks!

i guess ebay? or check search tempest? I haven't seen 1 of those for sale in ages, if ever

Thanks allot! I did just that and purchased a HE200WG from him! Should be I nice addition to the mechanical 12mm pump I have coming!

He has been trying to get me to try one in place of my 2052 setup.

i am really happy with mine

i have basically the same plans as detroit diesel (12mm mech pump, bigger turbo/nozzles hoping for ~200hp) but i was gonna do 2052 or 2056 because i had never heard of a holset on a TDI until i saw this thread and did some research. this research has swayed me toward a holset instead and i think i can do it @ similar price point


I just wanted to say thank you to TDIclub for all the amazing info and experimentation with less conventional setups

Either that or use that 2052 as a HP turbo in a compound setup, the comp map is perfect to run high efficiency low boost so perfect in a compound, not so much as a maxed out single turbo as it really isn't a good high boost turbo and it runs out of compressor flow a bit early

Question - why go with one of these over a 2056/2260 or 1722(26)?

I know the holsets are popular with the JDM and Superturbodiesel crowd

I was 1 of the 1st to run a 2260 in north america - it was a fantastic turbo but not ideal for a daily

- Easier turbo upgrade on those without VNT turbo to begin with (1Z/AHU/AGR)

- If you want to run high hp but are torque limited with a stock bottom end

- Lower EMP, no EMP spiking, better VE, no stop screw tuning etc

- Easier to use in a compound setup later on
