2015 Golf Sportswagen S TDI
Greetings, I currently have 9600 miles on my TDI and am looking forward to the first oil change coming up fast. I am new to the TDI ownership and would like to become very familiar with my purchase and always believe the best place to learn is from die hard owners verses the mechs at the dealership. So if anyone can tell me a little more about my 2015 Golf Sportwagen and what to expect and maybe what to be aware of in terms of ensuring a long and lasting relationship with my new found love. I have read and took to heart the break in period and followed it as outlined in this forum. Some questions that may help jump start my learning experience are as follows but not limited too: 1. What is MKIII; MKVI-A6, in otherwords, what am I ? 2. I have done some reading on cabin LED replacement and notice some owners have experience some ghosting with the bulb installs...recommendation for upgrading my cabin and cargo area with LED's to prevent this ghosting effect. I tend to lean more towards quality verses price. 3. I'm letting the dealer do my first oil change...since its free but after that I tend to do my own maintenance; So is it better to do a top "suction" oil change or do the traditional bottom drain? Thank you for this TDI Club and all the positive and sometimes funny responses; please feel free to give your advice to me on me understanding and maintaining the integrity of my new TDI.

your car is a MKVII which has a new engine which started in your model year. the desigations refer to overall models, but the discipline of strict model identification wavered some, so there are variations.

http://forums.tdiclub.com/forumdisplay.php?f=94 is likely to have relevant info.

you need to get under your car to change the filter, so a suction change would not save any work.

we put this together on a 2015 Jetta sedan, which has the same engine as your wagon. ( I think the parts are a little tighter packed for the wagon)

if you want to learn more about your engine,

Make sure you check the oil level before and after the dealer change.

(good idea to do so on a regular basis, anyway.)
