Hello again fellow TDI'ers.

Chris here from Burlington VW located just 38 minutes north of Phila, Pa.

It would be my pleasure to pick you up from Phila Int'l, West Trenton NJ, Atlantic City Int'l, or Amtrak in Trenton, NJ

I am happy to offer a vehicle that is coming into us on trade in tonight July 29th

We traded this Passat TDI from a gentleman that purchased it new in 2005

He is trading it in for a new 2014 VW Passat TDI.

Here is the description

Order Configuration

Model Year 2005
Model Passat
Exterior Color White
Interior Color Anthracite(dark charcoal)
Sunroof

VIN

Miles are 250xxx

I will have the full description of this vehicle and the long list of servicing performed in its lifetime tomorrow when I can get a good look over of the car.

I can report now that the Timing belt, water pump, and tensioner service was performed at 209k.

The BSM ( balance shaft) was also performed at the 209k mark.

Like I said in the opening, it is being traded tonight so I still have to put it thru the shop and detail servicing, however, here is what I am thinking on the early bird purchase before all the other salesman get the car!

$5900

As always, the only thing I ask to take advantage of one of my deals is to place a small donation to the TDIClub

Thanks again for the consideration.

Chris

Upon trading the car in, we put the car in for a safety check!

Here is what we ffound and performed

Front Tires are at 7/32
Rear tires are at 7/32
Front brakes were at 3/32 so we replaced the front brake pads and resurfaced the rotors
Wiper Blades worn{we replaced them}
Notices a torn left front axel boot{we replaced it}
We noticed the key fob not responding{we reprogrammed it}

Things for the future

The top engine cover is missing
The steering wheel is worn a bit{normal wear after 245K}
Small tear in drivers seat{I have to check and see if we have had this stitched up by our upholstery vendor??

Update: we have stitched the drivers seat and just today, 08/11, we had the headlights polished.

Update on this 2005 Passat TDI

Last week when we finished a few last repairs on this Passat(stitching the drivers seat and polishing the headlamp lenses) we sold it to one of our employees here at the dealership.

After a day or two, a CEL was thrown and she brought it in for service to look it over.

Now please bear with me on this next explanation as I am completely ignorant when it comes to the service and service jargon.

They ran the codes and it came back a sporadic code for the torque converter.

We performed a service on the trans and cleared the code.

We then realized that our employee, a young lady,was not happy or confident in the car so we took the car back and she purchased a different 2008 Passat gasser we had in stock.

We then determined that we would just take the car to a VW auction and recoup our money back on it.

After I received the questions in the above post last night, I asked my boss if I could sell the car here on the club where folks would know exactly what they are getting and for the most part, even work on the vehicle themselves.

He said ok and we came up with a price that we believe we would get back at the VW auction and pretty much what we own it for.

Here is the kicker, I would need to know in the next 2to 3 days if someone wants it as it is slotted for pickup from the haulers to go to the auction.

New sale price would be $4395 plus $298.40 doc fee plus $8 temp tag

Chris they were not questions. More service history on the car.
Oh my goodness! Lol you know, I am polish. Lol I should have put 2 and 2 together with your signature.

Thank you for more clarification. Any word on this cel for sporadic torque converter. Ever happened to you.

I have just tomorrow to sell before it goes away.

A fellow club member just posed these couple questions for me tonight.

Without service, I cannot answer them right now, however, maybe some fellow club member with experience can answer for me.

Here they are

Is the torque converter CEL a sign that the transmission needs to be replace on the 2005 Passat? If yes can you find out the cost to repair the transmission?
