After reading all about "the vent trick" for the last year, I today looked for the - what is it called? - and depressed it to hear a satisfying hiss along with the fuel in the neck disappearing from view. I then pumped about 8/9 more litres I think.
I fully expect to complete over 700 miles this time.
Marvellous. I lost my venting cherry.
