New/used car suggestions

Hey all,

Had my ALH Golf for 5 year now and the car has 392 000 kms now, ownership has been great, car is getting older and beat up now. Looking at options to replace it but are the newer VW diesel motors as reliable? What did most people jump into ?

I jumped into a new 2017 1.4 TSI gasoline Jetta S. Averages 40+ MPG. Paid $16K (U.S.) out the door (auto trans).
