Hi all,

Just looking for a few recommendations on what turbo would be best for a big turbo upgrade on my golf, i've got my eyes on a GTC1549vz but i want to be sure it'll fit straight in before i drop a few hundred on it i've seen a few people using some of the GTD turbos too so they may end up being an option, i just need to know for certain what would and wouldn't fit, excuse me if me knowledge is sketchy i'm new to this

See i have looked on their website but the only turbo upgrade they have online is 2500! I'm going to contact their technical team soon and see if they have any other recommendations as i know they have loads of turbos in for the polo tdi 1.6, and as far as i know that shares the same turbo as my car, i just need confirmation

Spoke to darkside developments and they're only realistic solution was to buy a new car without spending a million!! Not what i was hoping they'd tell me, apparently no one likes to modify mk7 tdi's

Check your original turbo. Check your motorcode.

Motorcode CAY(x) -> GTC1549VZ goes like this:

original turbo kkk -> use vacuum actuator from GTC1549VZ, you also need oil feed and return from GTC1549VZ.

original turbo garrett -> use vacuum actuator from original garrett (GTC1244VZ). I think original oil feed and return fits for GTC1549VZ.

But i think mk7 1.6TDI is something very else than CAY -motor...

CLH or CXX, his engine code.

gtd1444vz can be best turbo for that targeting about 200 hp. comes out from golf 7 gtd etc.

if you want more you should go with bw43d from b9 a4 2.0 tdi 190hp.

Best budget friendly upgrade might be the CR190 (GTD1449vz). Easy install and OE part. Hybrid available with 56mm compressor as well.
Darkside originally fitted GTD1752vrk to a 1.6l if I'm not mistaken and it made 240bhp. Much more expensive buy though.
