Self-Dimming Drivers Side Mirror

I saw this was an option in the owners manual after I bought the car. Nothing on the website when I ordered it though. I wonder if it's an option on the European cars only? Anyone have an idea where I could get one? I think I would have to find a power source inside the door for it. I already have the heated mirrors and power adjusting, so I wonder if the power source is already in the plug for the self-dimming feature? If there is one thing I've learned about this car, if VW can save 2-cents on a wire, your not gonna get it. (check the fog light missing wire issue)

Installing the auto-dimming exterior mirrors requires much more than just a wire and the glass. The auto-dimming of the exterior mirrors is controlled by the interior auto-dimming rearview mirror, which requires an OE rain/light sensor to be installed, which requires a different windshield to be installed. See, MUCH more than just a wire :) And FYI, the exterior auto-dimming mirrors are about $500/each new.
