A few turbo questions...

1. Did the BRM ever get shipped from the factory with a Garrett or only the BV39?

2. Is one better than the other?

3. Has anyone got any links to reviews or personal experience with the Street Toys hybrid turbo?

Looks to me like the BV39 is the stock for our cars.

Did you find something to think it's not that?

Nevermind. I see the KKK on the blue badge near the inlet.

Just curious. I see Garrett imprinted on mine.

The BV39 looks to manufactured by KKK.

I was just thinking maybe the turbo had been replaced once already, but it seems to have the VW badge on it.

Borg-Warner (formerly KKK) makes all the turbos on the BEW and BRM, as well as the '09-'10 CR TDIs too.
