My wife took my car into our dealership and they claimed this isn't a thing. I'm going in next. I like yelling.

The 97AM TSB does NOT apply to the 2011 Golf TDIs, even though the problem is identical to the 2010 Golf TDI who were having the same issues. I had to spend $500 out of pocket to get this issue fixed ($250 deductible twice). Thank goodness for an extended warranty, because otherwise it would have been closer to $1500, according to the dealerships I went to. If they ever decide to do a recal on this for the 2011's, is it possible to get my money back?

Most likely, as long as you have your receipts.
And that's one reason why I have a maintenance log book. I keep every receipt and servicing in it.

This just happened to my 2012 JSW. I looked at the fuse plate in the engine compartment, and it seemed fine with no melting. I spoke with the service manager at my local VW dealer (Jennings VW in Glenview, IL), and he said my car isn't covered under campaign 97 am or the extended warranty after the diesel modification.
Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
