Changed battery now radio has SAFE 1000 code and will not work

I just installed a new battery i bought at my local VW dealer.Now when i try to turn the power on to it is is displaying a SAFE 1000 code what can i do?It is a 99.5 TDI Jetta

It takes a while, sometimes, for the radio and the rest of the car to communicate. Otherwise you can just type in the access code and be good to go.

You may want to make sure you know the code, or if you don't maybe you can now reset the code so you will not risk not having it start up next time.
