Audi a6 c5 avant 2000 gearbox

Hi all, apologies if this is a repeat. I have a 2000 a6 c5 avant and would like to convert from 5 speed to 6 speed. I have been doing some research but it's all mixed.has anyone done this and would I need More than just the gearbox? It's a 1.9 tdi pd. I have seen the passat tdi GVS same era has 6 speed.

Info on this forum is a bit North America-centric.
So it's an A6 chassis with a 1.9 PD (BEW?).
I can tell you some folks simply sway out gear 5 with a different gear, read that's not real difficult.

Audi a6 2000 ajm engine. Stock motor. Would just like that 6 speed

I've heard they're nice. New or maybe used. Try shopping for new stuff, maybe supplier will know what bits you need, gear box, shifter, pretty sure the axle(s) are different.
Hopefully someone wh's done it will chime in.
