seat heater memory!

We've had frost in Kansas City area most every morning for more than a week now, and I've parked outside a few times, so I have had a chance to test the seat heaters more than once. This is the first cold weather, and a few times I have left it on when I turned off the car.

Surprise... The next morning, I notice that the seat heater is on the same setting I left it! My 2010 JSW and 2013 Passat always lost the info and I had to turn it on in the morning. Since I have not seen this optional difference in VCDS, I guess it is just a change.

Has anyone else noticed this, or is it different in your car?

In VCDS. Of course. I am not surprised, but I wonder why my previous TDIs were set to lose the setting? If you really know your way around in VAGcom, or have time to explore it, it's amazing how many things can be edited. My favortie change- switched to 5 flashes for lane change.

Driver's seat heater memory is an option in VCDS. Jason enabled it on our Passat and it's great. It's pretty much set on 1 all the time.

Looked in 09 and nothing available for my 2010 Golf. Passenger door module has an option for seat memory, enabled it. Did not hold my heated seat setting. Must be the older HW/SW version. This is what my car has installed.

Can anyone share how to enable this function with VagCom? Point me to the steps or a little DYI. Mine turn off every time, can get very annoying.

Thanks

You should probably update your profile, since the only vehicle listed is a Mk4, which doesn't have seat heater memory.

VeeDubTDI, thank you for the suggestion. I have a 2012 JSW TDI. How would I enable heated seats memory?

Thanks

After I read this thread I found that with my car the seat heaters wouldn't come back on to where I left off (typically the low setting).
Did a bit of digging online for how-tos and found a easy fix with VCDS:

This technque does work with my 2010 and no cel lights, BUT when you san with VCDS I have errors caused by the lack of seat memory modules. Again, there are no lights in the instrument panel.

2011 here... I don't think I have any errors. But I'm not sure if I scanned for codes or not since I changed the setting.
