VW TSB group 17, 03-01, on September 17, 2003

Does anyone know where VW Technical Service Bulletin group 17, 03-01 released September 17, 2003 can be found?

It was superseded by VW TSB group 17, 05-01 on April 12, 2005 which stated that 505.01 oil must be used in the TDI-PD engine.

Did 03-01 address the same issue?

The PD engines first appeared in the US in MY 2004. Therfore it's unlikely a 2003 TSB would address the 505.01 spec unless the TSB was issued in late 2003.

My 2004 Jetta TDI-PD entered service March 8, 2004; "Greta" posted on these boards in October, 2006 that her 2004 Golf TDI-PD had a major camshaft failure at 93,000 miles with multiple 505.00 oil changes in its service record:

505.00 is not the correct spec for the PD engines. I could be wrong, but I doubt anyone will find a VW TSB which state it's acceptable to use 505.00 spec oil in a PD.

I met a guy with 186,000 miles on an 04 letting "the duke of oil" change his oil with "5w-30 synthetic diesel oil"... guaruntee it was WORSE than 505.00.

I noticed that you've had some posts about 505 01 and your from Hawaii. Any chance you know where I could get some locally other than the dealer? BTW nice profile pics of MCBH.
