intermittent shifiting issues

my 99.5 5spd has been having random shifting problems.
some days it shifts smoothly and perfectly.
some days it will give me trouble going into first and third and it will grind going into reverse even using the second gear trick.
I did a brake job recently, bleed the brakes but not the clutch.(I didn't know they were connected at the time)
any other ideas?

Sounds like a clutch hydraulic issue, not releasing completely. Try bleeding the clutch. Also could be clutch MC or slave failing.

I've broken 2 pieces on mine, shift actuator and shift lever, both on top of the tranny

My 03 is hard getting into first gear sometimes...more often than not. The clutch is getting bad though...I do know that much.

I'll have to check the actuator and lever on top of the tranny as you mention Bob...The car has been about 98% highway driven lately, so I keep forgetting about the trans issues.
