DPF LIGHT...no faults

I have read on this forum and on others from 1pm yesterday until 5pm. I have a Vagcom, and have tried all the fixes and tricks that are associated with it. So here it is, I admit defeat and have to get the experts involved.
I had a standard run of the mill DPF light come this morning. I drive long distances every time the car runs, I have forced 2 regens, and there are no associated thrown codes, in fact there are no codes at all. The car has approx 182000 km’s on it.
I have had the light come on once a few years ago, the procedure in the manual to drive at a higher RPM fixed it.
Nothing I have done today has helped. Could the DPF need to be replaced? Seems like low mileage for it to fail.
Any help here guys would be greatly appreciated.
Car is a 2009 TDI DSG- 182.000 km’s
Particle filter oil ash volume is 120 ml
Particle filter carbon mass is 3.0
Particle filter carbon mass measured is 0.0
Is it normal to get the solid DPF light with no codes?
What should I attempt to do to get the light out?
The above numbers mean nothing to me..... the 120 ml I thought was maybe high. But from reading tons of other threads, maybe not.
Thanks guys!

I did a new scan today and forced another regen....it didn’t need it but I thought I would see if the light would go out. It didn’t.
I am convinced that the DPF is totally fine. The numbers support a healthy not worn out filter, as well as the fact that there are no codes whatsoever.
So, is there anyway to disable or turn off the Dpf symbol on the cluster?
I would not leave it that way without continuing to scan and monitor the Dpf.
I just can’t stand driving a car with a light on that’s not supposed to be.

If you did a full auto-scan, and no problems,

and no OBD codes, this seems unusual

you can probably look for the instrument panel controller and operate the light manually to make sure it turns on and off.

If you want to post the results of an auto-scan, go advanced,

and with the scan output pasted into the window and with the body of text selected, push the
button

Yes, I agree that it’s unusual. I have also spoken with other TDI gurus, as well as
engaging in the other forum. Some say it’s unusual, others say it can happen.
I will try to post a full scan here later today.

Agreed, seems odd and unusual.

Your TDI didn't by chance have any software updates done to it in the past year or so (dieselgate related), right? Just speculating that VW could have put [new] code in there that could be turning the DPF light on once the total ash volume reaches a certain level. You'd think it would have some sort of associated code thrown though if they were going to illuminate that DPF fault indicator.

Anyone know if there are any folks out there that "got the fix" (software updates) and that have an ash volume reading >= 120ml?

I know this is an oldish thread but I am just wondering if anyone found out if there was a resolution to this DPF light issue as I am having the same problem now. I had the modification done in August 2018 and just had my DPF and EGR filters replaced plus my intake manifold changed this week. On my way home from the dealership after the service was performed my DPF light came on and my car seems to be DPF regening all the time now and it smells worse than usual during the regen. Wondering if there is anything I can do to get rid of this DPF light with my VCDS. I was told by the dealership that I would need to drive my car on the highway for at least an hour and a half to get rid of the DPF light. Not sure if I buy this resolution... wondering if this makes any sense having to do a regen on a perfectly brand new DPF and EGR filter - something just doesn't add up.

I am dealing with this now in our 2013 TDI sportwagen.

We had the "fix" done at 94K miles.

At 103K miles, the dpf light came on. Dealer claimed driving style not optimized for regens. For the record, this car drive in and out of Boston, commuting highway/local, 70 miles per day, 5+ days per week. Dealer (Colonial, Medford MA) charged 2 hrs labor to regen. BS.

123K miles, dpf light back on. VCDS says code P1A58 "unknown "
Back to dealer, who claimed to drive it 45 min at highway speeds, which reset the light.

129K miles, dpf light back on. Updated VCDS version, reads same P1A58, but now VCDS knows that is the code for NOx Catalyst regeneration required. NOT THE DPF!
Soot load at 5 grams, so DPF is fine. Why wont a NOx cat regen? Why DPF light? maybe because there is no post fix "NOx" light?

Have not gone back to Colonial yet, looking for other info to make my case that this is an emissions warranty problem, not due to sub optimal driving style.

Bottom line, P1A58 is a NOx catalyst non regen issue, not a DPF regen issue.

Update. Code cleared from driving, but came back on in the winter, and still on.
Definitely a problem with the deiselgate mandatory fix. I dont have the energy to fight the dealer over it.

VW wins.
