Trailer hitch 200 Jetta

SO I looked this up on Autozone. Says it fits but I can't figure out how it mounts to the drivers side. Any one ever use this type?

Mounts to the side of the spare wheel compartment, you have to drill holes

Is that strong enough to hold it? I thought that was just a thin piece of metal.

I have seen them pull out of the sheet metal on vehicles operated near rated limit a lot. Probably ok for just the occasional use, but not for regular use.

Thanks, I will probably buy one then. I only will most likely use it once to pull a boat from the Denver area to the Western Slope. 250 miles and that is about all I will use it.

It is, but they usually come with some big washer type things to spread the load out over more area. Still weak.

I had a different brand, but about the same price. It bolted to driver frame rail and tow hook on pass side. Only used a bolt in spare tire well to stabilize hitch, not carry weight like the one you listed. Draw tight, I think.
