This might seem a little obvious, but I thought I'd share anyway.
I figured out that GTIs (and maybe TDI Golfs), since they have a lowered "sport suspension" also have shorter rear bumpstops than what come on the SportWagen. About 5/8" shorter.
This is nice to know because if you trim your stock rear bumpstops, you lose the ability to keep the stock shock body dust covers, unless you do some creative whittling.
This was important to me because with Koni coilovers you reuse the rear dust covers and bumpstops. I initially trimmed my bumpstops. I wasn't overly concerned about the dust covers, living in California, but I was a little concerned whether or not the cut bumpstops could be too short—much worse to have too little bumpstop, than too much.
So after reading posts by more than a few people over on vortex with GTIs on Konis, lowered all the way or nearly all the way, without cut bumpstops, and no problems, I looked into the part numbers.
Here's the part # for the GTI rear bumpstop: 1KO-511-353-N
I have yet to install them (weather has been pretty horrible lately). I'll post comparison photos when I get to it (hopefully this coming weekend).
Hope this helps someone.
