Wheel fit/Snow tires

New Vw owner -2014 TDI sportswagen loving every part of it.
Book states this must take the 16 or 17” wheel. Will a 15” wheel work on this thigh. I’d rather have the cheaper, yet better in snow, narrower 15” for my snow tires but heard that it won’t clear the calipers

Sportwagen has bigger brakes and 16” wheels are the smallest that will fit.

Are you sure, Peter? I've got 16s on ours and it there's plenty of room between the caliper and the inside of the rim...

He's got a 2014. Those have 312mm rotors. The '15s have 288s, and 15s will fit on the 2015.
