Questions about New 05 and 06 TDI Jetta

Any differences between 06 TDI engine and my 99 TDI engine?
If so, how much power can you get out of the new ones with a chip? And will the 5 speed auto in the 06 handle a chip? Any information is appreciated.

Lot's of difference in those 2 engines

Huge difference between the two. Totally different technologies, totally different power band. The PDs have a much flatter torque curve. They also go from 100 HP stock, to 135-ish hp chipped. Nozzles are possible upgrades on the PD, but this requires getting into the engine itself...remove the valve cover, etc. I find the PDs tend to smoke a little stock compared to the A4s. I haven't seen a chipped one, though.
