First post form forum newbie here from the UK.
I have a 1997 Caravelle LWB 2.5TDi (ACV). I have a registered version of VAG-COM 409.1 and today ran a check on the injection timing for the first time. It looks from the graph that it's a bit retarded:
Fuel temp: 163 and Timing: 37
I've read that the optimum timing value is nearer 55. Looking at my copy of ElsaWin it seem that to advance the timing, the idler pulley needs to adjusted. Is this correct or is there a better way to do this?
Some brave souls say to user the VAG-COM adaption to do this advancing but I'm nervous of this method.
I'd appreciate any advice on this issue.
