Replaced my fuel temp sensor from dieselgeek. All was fine until today the sensor is bad again. Temp reads 100C which is way off from actual. What is the lifespan of these things? Could I put a resistor in to give a fixed reading to the car will run right in the meantime? What would be a good fuel temp...50C? 25C?

There are just too many to list....
Was there any debris or any signs of moisture inside? That is usually what kills them early like that. I have replaced so many on WVO cars for this. But even bad contaminated moisture laden petroleum diesel can do this. The inside of the pump should be shiney clean, the aluminum should look brand new shiney silver and the steel parts should all be shiney and free from any rust.

When I replaced the sensor, everything looked clean and spotless. I don't think moisture is getting into the IP, however it would only take one bad tank of fuel to get some in there. Will see what it looks like when the replacement arrives.
