I've seen a couple of theads saying you shouldn't have any bubbles and some saying alittle bubbles are ok??

I just installed a clear section in the fuel line going to the IP. When the the engine is running there is a steady stream of bubbles. About 1/4 in dia.Is this normal?? When the engine is off there is no bubble.

The car starts fine but I've been having a horrible erratic idle. and throwing a Quantity adjuster upper limit reached code. I'm thinking the code and the erratic idle is not related to the bubbles in the fuel line??

i have air bubbles in my line like you describe, as do others (do a search) - it's not a problem generally - provided the car runs fine - sounds like you have other issues

What model is your car? I think the A4 fuel filter tee is a common leaking point where air can be sucked into the filter.
