Well...my little silver bullet 2009 went bye bye on the buyback (hard to turn down that much money for a 200,000 mile car) in Jan 2017, so I went back to my '97 Passat with 350K on it. Well again...that wasn't super great as a 140 mile/day commuter in Puget Sound traffic and all the little B4 gremlins began rearing their fugly green faces at me.

Sooo...I got me a bad fast 2005 E320 CDI that was fun, great, all that until a 15mph fender bender resulted in the insurance deeming her a total loss. I kept it ($500 difference from letting it go, no brainer) and decided to look at the 'new and improved' TDIs.

Ended up with a CPO 2015 Passat SEL Premium with 17,000 on it. First DSG and am impressed with the driveability. Have only put one tank of fuel through the engine but 707.9 miles on 14.855 gallons of #2 is pretty impressive for a good sized car. It's no Benz but it's pretty cool. After the warranty is up I'll be looking at playin' around a bit.

Hopefully the 2015 was a good move. Now I gotta learn about another car lol

Cheers!

don't wait for that warranty is up, get a tune and it'll give that merc a run for it's money.

My friend runs an independent German shop and is saying the same thing.

Rawtek, Malone Stage 2....

I get that text almost daily. LOL

stock exhaust/emissions with Malone low torque stage 2 (avoids DMF shudder) is more than enough for the wife's ride, she still wants to keep the "clean diesel" aspect, and is about $1,000 less.

Still gets 45-47 combined driving without hypermilling.

Thanks! The mileage is impressive thus far but ya, the power could be better....
