Hello,
I am posting because I recently ordered a rebuilt transmission from Ranchotransaxles.com with a 4.57 R&P. My mechanic had replaced the clutch in the process. He said that everything looked the same as the other transmission when it was pulled out. With the newly rebuild transmission in, the van will not move or engage.

Is it the input shaft? Is it the clutch I used?

It was working fine when the old transmission was in it with the TDI.

I'm looking for any helpful advice.

Thanks
Matt

I'm wondering if you're experiencing the same problem I am with my 15 degree ALH install using a Kennedy adapter kit. I acquired the kit used and with no instructions, but now after I already installed the engine and drivetrain, I found that the engine wouldn't turn over. I pulled the trans and determined that the input shaft was about 10mm too long for the kit. Perhaps the rebuilder used another input shaft and it needs to be shortened.

the splined coupler between the clutch input and main input could have slipped toward the bellhousing ... for this to happen the circlip has to come off or break
