We are selling my wife's 2010 JSW back at the beginning of next month. She would like to get a fuel efficient wagon with a manual for a replacement. Shooting for early 2018 to buy. In the mean time, she will be driving my Miata. The "new" 2015s that the dealers are selling don't seem to be a very good deal to me. Does anyone have some inside info on when VW might start to modify and resell the buyback 2015s? We would be looking at those and the new Alltrack.
When will the 2015 buyback TDIs be available?

You can buy a new 2017 GSW for $2500 less than a 'new' 2015 TDI. I had a 2017 GSW S model priced out for me to $23,300 incl. fees and (9.25%) taxes, and was told the Alltrack runs about $2000 higher. So even the Alltrack might be cheaper than the 2015 TDI.

Test drove a 2015 tdi gsw on Saturday . Called and put a deposit on it today . Taking delivery next Saturday morning . Could have done everything two days ago , not sure why we waited , but we decided on Sunday that we didn't want to pass it up . 5k off sticker , 72 months @ 0% .

I am not sure if we would hear anything before the current VW financing deals expire, which I think is May 31, 2017. I am also curious on the sale price of buyback TDI's. Hopefully some manual transmission Jettas will be available by then.

Even then, it's not like the buybacks would qualify for the 0%. However, I think you're right in that VW (a) wouldn't want to cannibalize the "new" TDI sales while they're moving 'em at asking price, and (b) the reintroduction of the used ones is bound to introduce some downward pressure on the book values.

Seems to me you should expect CPO-like pricing if there is any volume of cars available.

Perhaps, but some of those cars are going to have too many miles or have other CPO disqualifications. And will VW keep the buybacks within their dealer network, or send to less-than-desirable specimens to wholesale? I'm guessing dealers with the peaches initially, then later off to the auction lots.

Typically CPO warranties improve upon base warranties, so it'll be interesting to see what VW comes up with.
It's Canada, but this dealership has posted a list of the pre-owned 2015 TDI they will be getting.

Canada did approve the fix. They basically just piggybacked the EPA's decision.

Assuming Clarkdale is using the buyback website to determine anticipated returns they should know that no Interior dealerships are available for consumers to choose. Clarkdale was the closest listed dealership for me. I didn't sweat it as this can be changed apparently but they probably won't be getting as many returns as expected.

Question I forgot to ask dealer and can't find it here. Does anyone know if the 11 year, 162,000 warranty start the day I took delivery, like the factory 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty, or does it start in 2015. Thanks

Yes, it is clearly stated that the emissions warranty start date is the day the car went into service.
