It is time for the Antenna for my 2001 Jetta GLS TDI to be replaced. It has been taken on and off to many times. Now the rubber installation is torn. Poor FM reception and NO AM Reception. Does anyone know where I can get a good replacement antenna? OEM or aftermarket?

Thanks

The problem is probably the antenna base, there is an amplifier in there, which can fail.

A new OEM one should restore your reception.

If the rubber insulator thing is torn, then chances are you have corrosion in there keeping the amp from working.

The OE ones have some flaws that seem to lead to them eventually failing - but I don't know of any aftermarket ones that do any better.
