97 Passat TDI 215,000 miles. Flex pipe leak, replaced flex pipe at 210,000 miles with Universal flex-pipe, now leaks again (understand I should have used VW flex pipe because it's stainless steel) I'm considering removing cat. converter when I repair this. How much louder will it be? Will I notice it at hi-way speed? Will I gain 1 or 2 MPG? Anything else negative?
