I have a 98 TDI in Boston area and hit a puddle leaving work. I stalled in the tunnel about 20 miles later and could get it running enough to limp home over several hours at <2k rpm. It stalled repeditively, and took several tries to get going each stall. It hasn't gotten any better, but it hasn't gotten any dryer around here. Any ideas?

Agree, you may have soaked the MAFS and air filter. I'd start there.

Mr Chill is down in B'Tree (near 5 Corners) if you need a helping hand. He's the local TDi go-to person.

Good luck.

Thanks, I work in Mattapan pretty close, but the car isn't up to the commute from Methuen as running. I'll check that out. I took out the filter when it happened to see if that made a difference, but no better.
I think I have a short of some kind, but I've only had the car a couple of months, new to the TDI stuff...
The check engine light has been on for a while, the Glow plug fault, but I haven't had any cold weather start problems, so I didn't worry much about it.
