Garrett turbo upgrade for BEW engines

I just saw on the website of Garrett that there was this article with installation manual. It's funny that last year it was not on this site.

I don't know the price or else but they say that is bolt on...

The question is : Is it the same kit has TDIPARTS?

That turbo is basicly a GT 1749 VB with a PD (smart actuator) actuator. 175 HP is really pressing it to its limit! At that range it is really losing it reliability! It is though a good mild upgrade.

BlueCTTDi got 160/270 at the wheels with this turbo and stock nozzles. Very low smoke. I agree that much more than that would be a push. But with that tune (24 PSI IIRC) it ran great. And the car was very quick: underfueled a bit, if anything.

Is this a good option if your KP 39 turbo fails? Is the shaft bigger than the KP 39?

Yes this turbo is a very good replacement turbo for your KP 39 , And yes the shaft is bigger than the KP 39 too.
