What is the average/normal amount of times that a TDi engine will go through an active DPF regeneration cycle? I own a 2010 VW JETTA TDI and live in San Jose, CA. Lately, the weather has gotten much colder. In the morning its in the 30's and in the afternoon its in the 50's. Can these colder temperatures cause the car to go through more DPF regeneration cycles? Normally it does it every few hundred miles. But this week, the DPF regenerated 2 days in a row, skipped a day and then did it again. I don't drive the car that much. I only put about 35 miles a day on it. They are HWY miles too. Just wondering. It seems kind of odd. There are no check engine lights on or anything and the car is running great.
