Hell, lads.

I have some question which is killing me.. My dmf is nearly dead, so I am thinking of replacement. Now I don't know what should I install dmf or smf? Few of my friends installed smf and wrecked gear box.. So my question is does smf kill gearbox, or that was just coincidence. My engine is 2.0tdi blb, with gtb2056vk and 2bar boost. Waiting for good advice or recommendations.

I'm in the SMF camp. Sure a SMF car has gear rattle at idle when in neutral with the clutch out, but so what?

That rattle is a small price to pay for a clutch that will be completely bulletproof with VG engagement for the life of the friction material.

The best DMF will never have as smooth of an engagement as a SMF. My DMF was particularly terrible. I would kill the engine at least twice a day because of the vague ingagement point. Stop and go driving was a real chore.

I kill the SMF maybe twice a year. Makes stop and go traffic no big deal.

Almost forgot. With a SMF, go with the 21 pound flywheel for less gear rattle.
