I run a small time VW repair shop here in Sunbury PA.I can do most general repairs and maintenance including timing belts.I have 19 years of VW experience and have been in business for 9 years.I have a VAG 1552 (VAG COM) and keep a good stock of parts on hand at great prices.
A4 TDI timing belt labor is usually $175.
A3 and B4 is usually $100.

Sunbury would be a good hour or so more than State College or Harrisburg...might not be a bad detour on one of your trips back up to NS though.

If anyone needs a summertime timing belt change and doesn't want to wait here I will provide transportation to and from Knoebels This is a great family owned park.Free admission and you don't have to spend an arm and a leg to eat there either.

OMG...thats an awesome idea MM...I wasn't sure how far away from there you were. Anyone who does not already have someone lined up to do your TB should think about this option...but make sure you bring a friend along...nothing worse than spending a day in an amusment park by yourself. Anyone who has not been to Knobels really should make the trip up...it's a WONDERFUL park for families..and thier food has been rated the best amusement park food by the national trade magazine for a number of years running. Still family owned too.

Yes Knoebels is a great park all around.I think they just opened up this past weekend.I'm anxious myself to get there and ride the coasters.I'm only about 15 miles from it.

Officially I will say 6 months or 6,000 miles.That's the rule of thumb I always went by for parts.I never really had too many problems , but anything can happen.I do have insurance to cover worst case type problems for something I may cause.(crosses fingers) I haven't had to use it yet.

I bought a B4 TB kit and pump from Metal Man last November and it was great - unfortunately, I got it changed in NJ and paid more than twice what he charges

Sadly, I had to sell my B4, but hope to get in to an A4 Golf soon, and when I do, I will definitely use his services.

MM...we actually happened to be talking about your EBay kit in another thread...I think....General maint. or tdi discussion..can't remember...anyway...that's a smoking hot deal on the kit. I wish I knew you were such a big EBay seller a month ago......BEFORE I bought a TB Kit from a competitor for $90 MORE than yours. *cry*
pghPAtdi....I THINK...he was quoting $500 total with installation and parts....PLUS...you get to spend a day at Knobels if you wish....great park for families and freinds.

about $500 for me for TB, waterpump, and the rollers. Without the rollers, it should be a little less -- Dennis can give you a better figure.

Yes about $500 for the works.I have the kits at $280 and I charge $175 labor and will change oil and filter,air filter,fuel filter,cabin filter and flush brake fluid for the same $175 parts extra.I do have to charge PA sales tax on PA sales.I always point out that the labor is assuming nothing goes terribly wrong.I haven't really charged more than that yet.But if half the bolts on your car are stripped out and the rest are broken off it's going to cost more.
My timing belts at the present time are Continental.They are German and have the new part number on them for the long life belt.They have the same type of construction as the Gates belt.

Wow...thats a great deal on the parts and especially the labor...getting ALL of those things done at the same time would be a great convenience for customers.

I also have a good price on new turbos for A4 cars.Part number 038 253 019 C I have them for $650 each plus shipping.Probably $25 will get it shipped anywhere in the US.I can only take a money order for payment on these.
