2003 A4 Jetta. Just replaced a bad turn signal/dimmer arm, when I put all the tools away, there was a ball point pen size spring on the floor. Question, did I miss something in the area? Everything seems to be working. Thanks.

Of course you missed something. However, it will take someone with much better clairvoyance than I have to be able to tell you what it is, without pictures, over the internet... ;)

Cheers!

No, its perfectly normal to have left over parts. If you use all the parts, then you did soemthing wrong. ;)

If you work on lots of cars for long enough and you always have leftover parts someday you can build your own car.:)
