Left over spring?

2003 A4 Jetta. Just replaced a bad turn signal/dimmer arm, when I put all the tools away, there was a ball point pen size spring on the floor. Question, did I miss something in the area? Everything seems to be working. Thanks.

Of course you missed something. However, it will take someone with much better clairvoyance than I have to be able to tell you what it is, without pictures, over the internet...

No, its perfectly normal to have left over parts. If you use all the parts, then you did soemthing wrong.

If you work on lots of cars for long enough and you always have leftover parts someday you can build your own car.
