Default New VW Microbus with gas or diesel coming?

I will have to wait and see what this really looks like but I am very interested. A suggested price point between $25 and 35,000 is doable.

My first thought is that the front end while somewhat attractive can be tweaked to make it more appealing.

I think they can do better. They are sitting on a gold mine if they can get it right.

An AWD TDI 6 speed manual camper version would be cool. Guessing the price tag would be outrageous.

The front end of that thing doesn't fit with the rest of their lineup. Even the Beetle now has very angular lines throughout. Interesting.

Being that this is based on the MQB I'm guessing the overall size of the van would be similar to a Ford Cmax? Seating capacity of 6 or 7?

Willing to bet my left nut they will never sell that with diesel for the following reasons:
1) Cannot meet US EPA emission requirements
2) Diesel engines make too much noise
3) Diesel engines are smoke belchers.

I guess they're going to hold this model back in favor of the helicopter version...

None of these are true with the new diesel engines.

A diesel version would be nice, would probably add $3-5K as an option.

Wouldn't 4-motion in a small van necessitate a more powerful engine
or does the new EA288 have the 'oomph' to handle the job?

I think the nose needs a re-design...more old school would look sharp.
