I found a set of really nice leather seats for my Jetta, but the passenger seat has the wiring for the seat sensor for the airbag. Can I install it and keep that sensor unplugged? My original seat doesn't have the passenger air bag sensor .

Should work just fine.

Lucky you. All NA vehicles had to have passenger seat occupancy sensors since ~2005 with few exceptions.

I think I may have one of those exceptions. The place where the airbag off light should be is just a blank with no wiring to it, and there's no wiring to the seat for the sensor.

I also swapped the driver's seat with a full power seat with the memory, the seat moves fine, but the memory settings are stuck at the previous driver's settings from the donor car. Is there a way that can be changed or is that because my car didn't have that?

Does anyone know if the gli seats are plug in play from 2006 over to the tdi? I currently have the all power package two seats, ds starting to get real stiff and uncomfortable worn out leather from FL heat.

From what I have seen so car with my car "06' TDI no power anything" vs 2005.5 with power everything is that none of the wiring will be in the car going from power to non.

So that said if they're both 06's and both either full power or non power then they theoretically should swap over fine.

It's super easy to look at the seat plugs and see if they all match up wire for wire without taking anything apart.

I took the seats out of my 2010 and put them in my 2005.5 and the airbag seat connections are different style

Firehawk618, any idea which one of these would be the power leather from a 06 GLI? Trying to run a search to check availability.

I have no idea. Your best bet is use that car-part website that the list came from and look for something that's GLI specific. Then call that yard.

Does anyone know if the power lumbar on the passenger side should wor and how to get the memory settings to work on the driver's side? The driver's side lumbar works, even though the previous seats didn't have the power lumbar or the electric seat cushion.

Chances are your car isn't wired for memory.

I'm resurrecting an old thread, but maybe this will help future swappers. I just put full power heated seats from a 2005.5 into my 2009 Jetta. It's as you said, the driver lumbar works fine, but the passenger didn't. To get it working, I plugged the seat into the old car, then disconnected the lumbar controller to test the wires and see which ones are hot. If memory serves me correctly, there are 6 wires in a row going into the controller. I believe the center two were the 12V power in. I assume the others are the wires going to the motors operating the lumbar support. All that needs to be done is cut those two wires, splice a pigtail on them, and splice the other end of the pigtail into the main power wires coming out of the floor plug. (multimeter testing will tell you in seconds which ones) Piece of cake. Now if I could only get the heat working properly. Both sets of seats are heated and after the swap only one driver seat heat still works. Not sure whats up with that. I don't know how the heaters work yet.

Edit: The memory function won't work without a lot more work from what I've read. Memory functions are tied to the individual key being used to start the car.
