Rolling back the dieselgate Touareg fix?

Hi, fellow Vdubbers. I am the excited new owner of a 2015 Canadian Touareg TDI, and I am interested in returning it to pre-dieselgate form.

My understanding is that such a rollback requires both ECU and TCU adjustments.

Could someone please point me to where I can get guidance and supporting details?

I bought a spare TCM before I brought mine in for the fix because that was the biggest complaint post fix. It still didn’t resolve the sh!tty tune that VW gave us on the engines. I am curious to see if anyone has brought theirs in for warranty work while having their vehicle retrofitted with an old tune.

I’m dying to tune mine but don’t want to lose my warranty

^my understanding is that swapping the transmission control module does NOT show in the vehicle logs. If so, then the dealer will have no digital audit trail to refuse warranty service on TCM-related work.

What would be the advantage???

I mean, I get 33-35 MPG Hwy with the fix. Will I get even better w/o it?

^I think a TCM rollback is more for driver experience than mileage. Many drivers don't like how the emissions fix changed the shift pattern.

How did it "shift"? I'm manually upshifting now at around 1750 RPM (into every higher gear). I was shifting my X5 d35 3.0L w/6 speed with similar HP at 1700 RPM.
