2009 VW jetta tdi... Over the past week I notice a strange thing going on. I notice that after I turn the ignition off that approximately 15 seconds or so the fans come on and stay on for several minutes.
I have a P3car scan and I monitor my egt for regeneration, the car is not in regen. I bought this car new and very familiar when its in regen.

I scan the vehicle and this is what I got.

Both fans will spin by hand and doesn't appear to be restricted. Both fans will come on when AC is on.

Has anybody else have a similar condition? Would you recommend changing both fans or just the larger one?

Thanks in advance.

Update:
I ordered both fans from Idparts and installed them yesterday morning.

After driving 2 days everything is working as it should be. :)
I will drive the car for a week and then re-scan the vehicle.

I will update this post in a week...

Update:
After replacing both fans, the vehicle appears to working just fine.
I did notice that the new fans are much quieter and smother than the ones I replaced.
I re-scan the the car and there no more codes associated with fans.

Replacing the fans fixed my problems. :)

Good to hear you were able to tackle the issue without a visitation to the dealer.
