2012 Audi A3 TDI head unit upgrade

Recently bought a "new" fixed 2012 Audi A3 TDI, aside from bad front wheel bearings which make weired noises at the speed between 65-80mph, a loose passenger seat back cover, was also surprised to find out that there was no CD player coming with it but only the navigation plus. The car drives great, though.

Looking to upgrade the navigation system to an after market head unit with apple carplay, backup camera, Satellite Radio, HD Radio and CD player. Also like to have the steering wheel control.

Any good recommendations are welcome. Thanks.

By navigation plus, do you mean RNSE? It should support adding a CD changer (glove box), bluetooth and sat radio (usually in the rear left side).


Won't be "cheap", but should maintain steering wheel functionality.

On that year model, there was either the RNSE or the CD changer. Can't have both.

There seems not be the HD radio, satellite radio options, but apple carplay, android play, DVD/CD player, backup camera.

What's the source and prices if going your route?

Sorry, I thought you could add a glove box mounted CD Changer.

You might check some of the Audi forums, the RNSE is fairly popular there.

I don’t have current price info, just recall the BIG prices when I was looking at putting 1 in my allroad about 6-8 years ago.
