HELP 4 a fellow TDI'r - Oil Cooler Seals

Anyone in Wis, 45 min. or less fromn Appleton willing to change some oil cooler seals on a fellow TDI'rs car?

You can do it dude! 32mm socket and 1 o-ring! Messy as **** though!

what about the seal where the adapter meets the block

I doubt it's leaking there. It's the EGR pipe NEXT to it that's leaking. That has an o-ring and is plastic. They always crack and leak. $35 at VW. The base plate is a metal gasket, they don't leak.

i replaced the "Breather Tube" with Bryan42's kit, and if I feel the back of the filter there is some oil on it....I suppose it could be just the cooler seal than.

different subject...if a pice of "gunk" broke loose from the intake manifold would the engine jerk, and then be fine?

Sorry for all the questions, but do I NEED to disconnect the cooler lines or can I just use a 37mm socket to get the nut loose and replace the seal...

32mm no, you don't but it's a tight job. Just make sure you get the seal on the barbs.
