Price reduced $5500>$4900>$4750>$4700>$3500 delivered east of the MS river or $3000 to D.C. area. I live in western NC.
UPDATE: Headliner is repaired and looks great. JFC that was expensive Interior steam cleaned. After steam cleaning it, the car smelled like a locker room, it was terrible. I made that worse by using some sort of new car smell in it. It's died down a bunch, but still lingers occasionally.
I am the 5th owner and I Purchased in 2011 with 168K for $9310 from Colorado Springs, CO.
Some more body photos added per U/MRFIAT. Photos https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1H6rtzDxc2gtFenudESnPWRrZIcc4aG-q?usp=sharing. I added a carfax history and a history from VINcheck through the national motor vehicle title information system because some f'n scammers kept asking me to get one from their particular sites.
This is/was our family car and has had two young children essentially using it for their personal kitchen, bedroom, playpen, vacations, and rumpus room since 2012 when we purchased it. We also have two large dogs. The gray cloth interior was just professionally detailed and looks great (see updated photos). Most of the easy work (oil changes, brakes, axles) was accomplished by me and the hard stuff (timing belts x2, tensioner pulley, suspension, injectors, tuning, etc.) was done by Daniel Grindstaff at Appalachian Diesel Works in Leicester, NC, or Annuthee Hosfetter (Sp) at Dieseland in Golden, CO . The only mods are the injectors and Kerma tune, and Dale’s mod which is welding the left (driver) rear hatch hydraulic stay in place. (P) equals picture. Oil changes have been a combination of whatever IDparts recommends supplemented by Castrol from the dealership (all 505.00 or better of course). Oil, oil filter, and fuel filter are fresh as of 20 Oct 2019 (270,501mi), I changed the air and cabin filter earlier this year in June. I just drove it to Raleigh and back and got 45 mpg.
Recent work: 2015-2020:
Steam cleaned upholstery
Fixed headliner
Zip tied moonroof drains to be able to clean them without having them detach (it leaked recently on the new liner after it was installed)
Dogbone mount June 2019
Oil, oil filter, fuel filter Oct 2019 270,501 mi
New serpentine belt AUG 2019
New starter Jan 2019
Timing belt IDP parts 100K kit from IDparts at 229,500K July 2016, next one due at 310K.
Brake fluid change Aug 2018 250,000
Coolant thermostat Aug 2018
New battery fall 2018 (P)
Replaced serpentine tensioner pulley 2015 (P)
Rear hatch hydraulic arms replaced and left side (driver) welded in place to body of vehicle, works great now. (P)
MAF replaced Nov 2015 200K
All vacuum lines replaced 2015 (P)
Large cooling fan on radiator replaced 2105
Bosal hitch installed 2015. This is the one from Europe that integrates into the frame and is not drilled into the spare tire compartment. It gives you 10 kg more tongue weight and no scraping on the ground. There is no trailer light wiring, we just took our chances with it and drove during the day. You can remove the hitch, but we do not have the insert for making a bike rack. It was worth $500 when we bought it. (P)
Work completed in 2011 (Dieseland, Golden, CO) all at 168,000 when purchased
ANUT (Annuthee Hofstetter) SMF clutch kit
Final drive seal (right)
Rear main seal
LubroMoly 75/90 gear oil
Bilstein HD R shocks
Bilstein TC Sport struts
Sachs strut mount w/ bearing
Control arm bushing
Lower transmission "Dogbone" mount
Diesel Geek panzer skidplate
Kerma tune
Bosio PP520 injector nozzles
Injector timing by drivbiwire
ECU tuning by Kerma
Problemos: The plastic above the cabin filter is broken, it was broken when I purchase it in 2011. The buffer/rug that goes on the hood to silence the engine sound is gone (we had a run in with rats living in it for a winter and the dogs tore it up getting them out. There is also a bolt missing that holds on the engine cover. The driver’s side door sticks sometimes because of a bolt that holds the door to the frame. When you open the door, it sticks, you just need to open it again. I replaced the bolt, but it comes loose quickly and the door sticking occurs again. The CIL is usually on but not right now, but when it is on, it’s usually for a glow plug. No antenna (P); There are numerous paint peels (P), clear coat near moonroof (P) and rust chip spots on the hood (P). There is a slight amount of rust where the door meets the quarter panel (P), but no rust anywhere else (numerous P). The driver’s side brake light probably needs replacing about every 4-6 months for some reason. We use the correct bulbs, it just shorts.
