Errors in RNS 850 scan.

I bit the bullet and installed the firmware and maps in my 2012 TDI Exec RNS 850 yesterday.
I hooked up a battery charger to keep the battery up and the only problem I has was it started raining and I was using a charger/maintainer that would let the voltage get higher than I wanted after the battery was charged.
After the update I did a VCDS auto scan and found a few problems.
A couple of the modules recorded a high voltage fault, but they recovered when cleared.

Address 5F: DTCs cleared

I assume that this has to do with the cracked authorization code etc.
Does anyone know how to clear this or is it best to just leave it and enjoy the maps?
I assume that everything will just keep on working.

I've poked around with this a little bit, this is getting out of my comfort zone but I suspect that yes, the firmware update caused all this outright, but as I understand it, it will still work as best it can.


It might be possible to help sort out some of it via an adaptation in channel 15... but again, this is out of my comfort zone.


I would suggest to post a complete Auto-Scan on our forum (link on the [About] screen in VCDS) and we'll see what we can come up with.

I found a posting about 4 months ago in the Club Touareg forum and it was either very similar to mine or the same, I haven't checked it carefully yet.

My understanding from other sources is that these errors are generated due to car not being on line with the VW Mothership during the update and getting official blessings and dispensation via cash offerings.

That is not a correct statement... but I can't say you are wrong. Again, out of my comfort zone, but some XOR binary magic might be calculated and the result submitted to the control module and make it "happier".


Say you didn't have VCDS... and you paid Zeb's Shade Tree Auto Repair and Youth Counseling to do this upgrade for you... would you think everything is working just fine?

If it all works I'd ignore it. May be it is that cracked software you used.
