Front towing point on 2002 Jetta

I have a 2002 jetta with a dead engine. It is at a repair shop and they would like to get it out of their parking lot. I work about a mile away and if I could tow it there I could deal with it at my leisure. I can't see any place to attach a tow rope on the front. Anybody ever tried this? I know I could rent a tow dolly and the rest of it but like I say I really only need about a mile.

remove the lower passenger side plastic grill insert.

There is a screw hole in there to insert the tow hook that SHOULD be in your spare tire kit (mine was MIA...)

the hook screws in reverse threaded... left to tighten.

Thanks, I always wondered what that eye bolt was for. Never thought to look in the manual.
